Job Summary
Teach district-approved curriculum to junior high students, develop lesson plans, and provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs. Safely manage a classroom, assess student progress through tests and observations, and maintain records. Collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals, participate in meetings (PLC, professional development), and support extracurricular activities. Supervise students and volunteers, communicate regularly with parents and the community, and ensure compliance with district policies. Demonstrates ability to apply current research and theory to instructional programs, utilize technology for data entry and Internet research, and adapt instruction for G/T, ELL, LD, and other student needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in appropriate major or course of study
- Valid teaching license for grade level and subject area assigned
- Meets requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher designation, if applicable to the teaching assignment
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information to groups of students, administrators, staff and the general public
