Job Summary
Teach physical education at Crandall High School in Texas, delivering instruction for in-person (and related modalities) to foster students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum, adapt for diverse learning styles, and assess student learning. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; plan instructional goals with colleagues; supervise instructional aides and volunteers. Lead extracurricular activities as assigned and maintain professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues. Ensure safety protocols and emergency procedures are followed in classroom and activity settings. Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct; participate in staff development and comply with district policies. Proactively reflect on instructional practices, plan for ongoing professional growth, and utilize technology and instructional materials to support instruction and assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Current AED and CPR certification for Physical Education Teachers
