Job Summary
Conduct daily instruction and supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, and out-of-town trips while enforcing the Student Code of Conduct. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, conducting ongoing assessments to support student growth. Manage behavior, coordinate with special education staff for IEP accommodations, and maintain open communication with parents, principals, and staff through weekly meetings. Compile and file all required reports, inventory equipment, and ensure compliance with University Interscholastic League rules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- ESL Certification/Endorsement within first year of employment
- CPR/AED Certification
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
- Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one-year student teaching or approved internship
- Must be present regularly in person
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
- Two years' experience as coach assigned preferred
- Experience with special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP)
