Job Summary
Provide instruction in core academic subject area and coach students in the assigned sport(s); develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district/TEA guidelines; assess student learning and manage behavior; ensure compliance with UIL rules, NCAA regulations for scholarships, and district requirements; supervise teacher aides and volunteers; collaborate with parents, principals, and faculty; use technology to strengthen teaching and learning; sponsor extracurricular activities and maintain records; maintain a professional standard of conduct in line with district policies. Requires Bachelor's degree, Texas Teaching Certificate or applicable DOI waiver, current First Aid/CPR/AED, and Texas CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements. Location: Kilgore, Texas. Employment type: full-time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from Accredited College or University
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Current first aid, CPR, and AED certificate
- Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Knowledge of core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of UIL rules
- Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Three years coaching or participant experience in sport assigned
