Job Summary
Provide medical treatment, crisis intervention, medication support, and rehabilitation services within scope of practice in inpatient/outpatient settings for individuals with mental illness. Responsibilities include assessing clients, implementing medication support systems, participating in crisis intervention, and maintaining clinical records. Essential qualifications include completion of an accredited nursing program, current state registration, First Aid Certification, and proven communication skills. Must demonstrate expertise in working with high-risk populations and possess a valid California Driver License.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program
- Current registration with the State of California as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician or Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Current First Aid Certification or successful completion of First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
- Certification in writing 5150 holds or obtain certification within six months of hire
- Effective utilization of computer technology for communication, information tracking, and accessing online resources
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a small team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a behavioral health or addiction treatment services
- Previous experience working with the target population
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance
- A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle
- Current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record
