Job Summary
Elixir Engineer to join a fast-moving integrations team at a leading SaaS platform in Portugal. You will design, build, and ship backend services, APIs, and webhooks powering customer-facing integrations with platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams, own your work end-to-end from design through production, and use AI to enhance engineering. Responsibilities include maintaining highly available, scalable systems across multiple languages and protocols, integrating with third-party platforms, and collaborating with engineers across teams to raise the quality bar throughout the full development lifecycle. Key skills include Elixir, React, API integrations, webhooks, OAuth, and AWS-based cloud infrastructure, with a proven track record in distributed systems.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of designing and operating large-scale backend systems
- Strong Elixir experience (functional programming mindset essential)
- Strong knowledge of React
- Solid experience with third-party API integrations, webhooks, and OAuth
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred)
- Proven track record with distributed, highly available systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with integrating platforms with Slack, Teams, Jira, or Salesforce
- Familiarity with databases and streaming tools (MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL)
- Experience building public-facing APIs
