Job Summary
Adjunct Instructor for Professional Development (PD) RN Refresher and Certificate Programs. Teach in classroom, lab, and clinical settings with evening and weekend availability; maintain equipment and ensure spaces are orderly; manage attendance, testing, and evaluations; be willing to train in multiple instructional roles (Nursing Assistant Instructor, Medication Aide Instructor, RN Refresher Instructor); participate in team meetings and prepare program materials. Requires strong communication and customer service skills, proficiency with technology for didactic portions, and the ability to support students across diverse learning experiences. Schedule is one day per week from 9:00am to 2:00pm on a rotating basis; located at Methodist College in Omaha, NE. A minimum of an Associate degree in Nursing is required; BSN/MSN preferred; nursing license and BLS-related requirements apply. Educational and professional duties include supervising labs, ensuring safe and effective instruction, and contributing to program evaluations and sign-offs. The role supports the professional development offerings across the Nursing and allied health programs within Nebraska Methodist Health System, emphasizing compassionate patient care and adherence to curriculum and institutional mission.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) or RN diploma required
- Current Nebraska RN license or valid compact multistate license to work in Nebraska, or temporary permit while awaiting licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – preferred at hire, required within 3 months of hire
