Job Summary
PCU Float Pool Nurse role in a Progressive Care unit. Provides patient-centered care coordinating with medical providers, including pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. Responsible for assessing patient condition, performing procedures as ordered, documenting care in the medical record, administering medications, and monitoring patient responses. Requires BCLS and CPR within 30 days of start. Education pathways include Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or RN Diploma. Opportunity to support ongoing learning within a large healthcare system and participate in a float pool caring for cardiac and medical-surgical patients; strong emphasis on advocacy, safe medication administration, and collaboration with the care team.
Required Qualifications
- RN or Registered Nurse license
- Associate Degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in nursing or RN Diploma
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- CPR certification
- Ability to perform pre-operative and post-operative nursing care
- Document patient care accurately in medical records
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses
- Knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients
