Job Summary
Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting status changes. Perform prescribed procedures and administer medications while monitoring patient response. Document all care administration in the medical record timely and thoroughly. Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients. Collaborate with medical providers to deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients. Requires RN licensure, BLS within 30 days, and ACLS/NIHSS certification within 30 days of hire. Located at TriStar Summit Medical Center, a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center serving Davidson and Wilson counties.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state
- Associate's degree
- BLS required, and must be obtained within 30 days of employment
- ACLS with 30 days of hire
- NIHSS Stroke Certification within 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- At least one-year clinical nursing preferred
- Charge and Supervisor experience preferred
