Job Summary
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Same Day Surgery unit, you’ll assist with personal hygiene, mobility, and transfers, monitor vital signs, document patient information, and provide compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life. You will work closely with nurses to deliver hands-on care in a 40-hour, full-time role at Deaconess Memorial Hospital, with on-site responsibilities, BLS certification within six months of hire, and completion of required PCT classes. Duties include bathing, toileting, linen changes, assisting with repositioning, recording vitals, and contributing to patient charts while maintaining safety and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider within six months of hire
- Completion of PCT classes as required by care center/unit
- Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
