Job Summary
Provide direct personal care to patients in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Observe and communicate changes in patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and assist with meal services and self-care instruction. Document observations, vital signs, intake/output, and nursing care procedures accurately. Screen and interview patients, prepare them for therapy, and manage supplies, linen, and equipment while maintaining safety and confidentiality. Serve as a clinical preceptor for new staff and participate in onboarding efforts. Work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with a valid Georgia driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Valid GA Driver's License
- 25 years of age
- Insurable driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Hospital or long-term care experience
- Nursing school students with one (1) semester of clinical instruction
- LPN, or equivalent experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to take exceptional care of patients by providing multi-skilled direct patient care as delegated by the RN
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude
- Takes responsibility for growing professionally and seek opportunities for improving skills
- Communicates effectively using timely verbal, non-verbal and written communication
- Willingly adapts to changing work demands and work environment
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and makes sound judgments to monitor and respond to patient needs or changes in condition
- Maintain congenial working relationships with RNs and others
- Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant "CNA" certification
- Previous experience with patients with SCI, TBI, and/or mental health
- One (1) year hospital or long-term care experience
