Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in collaboration with the RN, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and transferring patients up to 50 lbs. Monitor vital signs, document intake/output, and communicate condition changes or emergency responses to nursing staff. Instruct patients on self-care activities and support their plan of care while maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Screen patients, prepare them for therapy, and manage supplies and linen. Serve as a clinical preceptor for new staff and participate in onboarding efforts. Work 7p-7a, Monday through Wednesday, with a high school diploma and hospital or long-term care experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid GA Driver's license
- 25 years of age
- Insurable driving history
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Hospital or long-term care experience
- Nursing school students with one (1) semester of clinical instruction
- LPN, or equivalent experience
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to take exceptional care of patients by providing multi-skilled direct patient care as delegated by the RN
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude
- Takes responsibility for growing professionally and seek opportunities for improving skills
- Communicates effectively using timely verbal, non-verbal and written communication
- Willingly adapts to changing work demands and work environment
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and makes sound judgments to monitor and respond to patient needs or changes in condition
- Maintain congenial working relationships with RNs and others
- Complete orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date
- Complete mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements by determined due date
- Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant "CNA" certification
- Previous experience with patients with SCI, TBI, and/or mental health
- One (1) year hospital or long-term care experience
