PCT - Patient Care Tech - Surgical Services

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision while assisting operating room staff with technical aspects of patient care. Monitor and control the operating room environment, including cleaning, disinfecting the surgical suite, managing reusable equipment, and caring for ancillary anesthesia supplies. Transport patients, equipment, instruments, specimens, and supplies while lifting and positioning patients according to practice standards. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, report changes in physical or mental conditions to nursing staff, and document necessary records. Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs, and perform technical duties such as oxygen setup, pulse oximetry, specimen collection, and EKGs as directed. Full-time evening shift from 12pm to 8:30pm Monday through Friday at UAB St. Vincent's in Birmingham.
