Job Summary
Record vital statistics and administer basic health care and medical treatments to admitted patients during the critical first 12-24 hours of their stay. Provide daily living assistance including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and laundry under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Collect non-invasive biological specimens, clean patient living areas and treatment rooms, prepare medical equipment, and dispose of biomedical waste. Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare while maintaining one-on-one care when necessary for safety. Requires strong communication, customer service, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. CNA certification preferred; North Dakota registry required for those working in ND without current certification. 12-hour rotating shifts with every third weekend and every other holiday off. Salary range $17.00 - $24.00.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment
- 12 hour rotating shifts
- Every third weekend and every other holiday
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred
