Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room by obtaining EKGs, collecting laboratory specimens, performing phlebotomy, and monitoring vital signs under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Maintain accurate medical documentation, stock supplies, and adhere to infection control protocols while interacting effectively with diverse populations in stressful situations. Work evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday coverage, earning $15.00 to $25.71 hourly with a potential $3,000 sign-on bonus. Requires CNA, EMT, or CMA certification plus one year of direct patient care experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Combat Medic Specialist (MOS 68W) trained
- Nursing Student 2nd year if Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program
- Nursing Student 3rd year if Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN) program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum one (1) year of CNA, EMT, CMA, recent military medical, or direct patient care experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of infection control guidelines
- Knowledge of sterile techniques
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to organize work assignments
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English
