Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department by obtaining EKGs, collecting laboratory specimens, performing phlebotomy, and monitoring vital signs under RN direction. Maintain accurate medical documentation, stock supplies, and apply strict infection control protocols while interacting effectively with diverse populations in stressful situations. Work rotating 24-hour shifts (3:00p–11:30p) on every other weekend and holiday, adhering to departmental policies and productivity standards. This role supports the Health Alliance-Clinton Hospital mission of healing through reliable, compassionate service and continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Combat Medic Specialist (MOS 68W) trained
- Nursing Student 2nd year if Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program
- Nursing Student 3rd year if Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN) program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum one (1) year of CNA, EMT, CMA, recent military medical, or direct patient care experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of infection control guidelines
- Knowledge of sterile techniques
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to organize work assignments
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English
- Ability to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations
