Job Summary
Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations and changes, including skin conditions, vital signs, and mental status. Observe high-risk patients, assist with daily living activities like hygiene and ambulation, and perform patient safety checks and fall prevention strategies. Take and record vital signs, perform EKGs, POC tests, and phlebotomy, while collecting and labeling specimens for transport. Assist with treatments and procedures by preparing patients, setting up equipment, and utilizing sterile technique. Replenish supplies, maintain unit equipment, and observe patients via remote video monitoring systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school education or GED
- Current Basic Life Support
- Demonstrated competency attainment in the PCT II level
- Prior inpatient/outpatient care experience or clinical care training
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner
- Medical Terminology
- Computer skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients
- Proven problem-solving abilities for routine situations and requests assistance from identified resources when more direction is needed
- Ability to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds
