Job Summary
Patient Care Technician I/II role performing a range of patient care activities under licensed supervision. Responsibilities include communicating observations to the RN, constant observation of high-risk patients, maintaining a safe environment, assisting with activities of daily living, and helping with positioning, lifting, and transporting patients. The role requires essential clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, EKGs, point-of-care tests, specimen collection, and assisting with treatments and procedures under supervision. Requires high school diploma or GED and Basic Life Support; strong English communication, medical terminology knowledge, and computer skills. Flexible scheduling includes day shifts, with 24-hour weekly hours and weekend/holiday coverage; potentially indoor inpatient/outpatient care within a hospital setting. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- English literacy (read/write/communicate clearly)
- Basic computer skills
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Ability to work under stress or in emergency situations
- Demonstrated competency at PCA I: 800 hours and at least 6 months of experience
- PCA II qualifications: prior inpatient/outpatient care experience or clinical care training and competency
