Job Summary

Assist patients with activities of daily living including feeding, bathing, and toileting while maintaining confidentiality and privacy. Gather patient data, obtain vital signs, monitor intake and output, and chart observations under RN supervision. Report changes in medical or emotional condition immediately and respond to emergency situations as delegated. Maintain infection control standards, ensure environmental safety, and participate in facility-wide patient safety programs. Collaborate with nursing staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient progress and promote dignity.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved nursing assistant or PCT program or successful completion of the Hospital's PCT training and orientation program
  • Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
  • Ability to identify and implement components of the nursing process
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form
  • Ability to define and solve problems and collect data
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co-workers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product
  • English is the primary language of the facility

  • Participates in relevant in-service training sessions
  • Participates in hospital wide patient safety program identifying risks to patient safety and reducing healthcare errors
  • Participates in new employee orientation
  • Attends and participates in facility meetings

Desired Qualifications

  • Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Patient Care Technician/Associate in the state of employment
  • Phlebotomy training
  • ECG training
