Job Summary
Manage daily operations of multiple funeral home locations, overseeing financial and operational planning, budgeting, and staff development to meet client-family expectations. Responsibilities include developing annual business plans and budgets with Market Leadership, monitoring and achieving operational goals, approving expenditures, ensuring compliance with federal and state/provincial regulations, managing day-to-day activities to ensure on-time services, removing barriers, guiding supervisors, and empowering accountability. Lead frontline supervisors, collaborate with local Management and Corporate Departments on product, process, and technology improvements, maintain facilities, ensure safety/quality control standards, and drive employee engagement. Develop a strong, reliable team, address issues with constructive feedback, recruit and promote skilled staff, and participate in community outreach to grow brand and market presence. Proficient use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to manage travel up to 25%, with duties that may include arrangements for visitation and/or services.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required (Education described)
- Embalming Licensure may be required depending on state/provincial regulations & requirements
- At least seven (7) years industry experience in applicable discipline with progressively increased responsibilities
- Funeral Home Management experience required
- At least two (2) years’ experience managing people and effectively managing budgets and expense control
- Knowledgeable in industry competitive pricing, demographic patterns, and market competition
- Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
- Strong professional interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity and tactfulness
- Ability to supervise staff, develop plans, and ensure compliance with safety/quality standards
- Ability to build relationships with community leaders and networks
- Ability to travel up to 25%
