Job Summary
Design high-speed digital and RF boards for mission-critical satellite and communication hardware, focusing on FPGAs, RF front-ends, and SDR platforms. Execute PCB design using Altium Designer or KiCad, implementing controlled impedance, matching networks, and isolation techniques while managing power supply and decoupling strategies. Collaborate with system architects and RF engineers to develop hierarchical schematics and manage rapid board revisions. This role requires 3+ years of experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGAs and familiarity with aerospace-grade electronics, with a passion for space technologies and willingness to work extended hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in PCB design with projects involving FPGAs and RF subsystems
- Proficiency with PCB design tools: Altium Designer, KiCad
- Strong understanding of high-speed design and routing techniques
- RF layout techniques (controlled impedance, matching networks, isolation)
- Power supply design and decoupling strategies
- FPGA breakout and BGA fanout techniques
- Experience working with: Xilinx, Intel, or similar FPGAs
- RF modules (e.g., S-band, X-band, GNSS, SDR platforms)
- Familiarity with simulation tools for signal integrity, thermal, and power analysis
- Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage multiple boards and iterate rapidly through revisions
- Passion for space, satellites, and ground segment technologies
- Self-driven and willing to learn continuously
- Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
