Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of an RN in a multifaceted role that combines patient care assistant, unit clerk, and cardiac monitor tech responsibilities. Contribute to a clean, well-stocked, and safe patient environment while supporting nursing staff with routine tasks, monitoring and recording vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, transporting patients and supplies, coordinating unit communications, handling basic clerical duties, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies. Key duties include personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene), feeding patients, measuring intake/output, transferring patients safely, applying dressings, collecting specimens, observing and reporting skin integrity and patient condition, managing telemetry and heart rhythm monitoring, and maintaining patient records and unit operations. Requires 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or GED, CENA certification, current BLS, and at least one year of related experience; physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting with patient movement, with strict adherence to safety and infection-control practices. Must participate in pre-employment drug screening and comply with vaccination and TB testing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Competency Evaluated Nursing Assistant (CENA) certification
- Current BLS
- At least one year of experience directly related to the duties
