Job Summary
Pest Control Advisor responsible for advising and overseeing the pest control program in organic and conventional vegetable production. Oversees scouting, pest monitoring, sampling, and develops pest control recommendations while ensuring full compliance with California DPR regulations. Serves as primary liaison between applicators and ranch managers, coordinating treatment strategies and supporting timely, informed decisions to protect crop health and optimize field operations. Requires strong leadership to supervise field teams, excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work variable Salinas-season schedules, and willingness to engage in periodic night calls to guide night foremen; valid California PCA license and driver’s license are required. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences or related field
- PCA License (California)
- 3-5 years experience in the vegetable industry
- Valid California Agricultural PCA License
- Driver's License with clean OMV driving record
- Fluency in Spanish desirable
