Job Summary
Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents, including helping them to and from the dining room and managing move-in transitions. Perform housekeeping duties such as making beds and cleaning apartments and common areas. Report incidents, care concerns, and resident status to appropriate individuals like HCD, RN/LPN, or ED, and communicate verbally and in writing regarding appointments and transfers. Check on ill residents, ensure meal attendance, and assist in planning activity programs while maintaining confidentiality. Remain calm during emergencies and follow all policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successfully completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations as applicable
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
- Contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
- Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
- Ability to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge
- CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
- Ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
- Willingness to attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
