Job Summary
Provide in-school support to assigned students with special needs, maintaining positive relationships with teachers and staff. Consult with the Behavioral Specialist Consultant on treatment plans and submit daily student summaries and clinical documentation. Perform physical activities including reaching, grasping, walking, kneeling, and ascending stairs while interacting clearly with age-appropriate language. Complete CPR/First Aid, crisis intervention training, and background checks before starting. Work full-time Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain necessary clearances
- CPR/First Aid training
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
- Ability to pass background check
- FBI fingerprinting
- Ability to work with 'high-risk' consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service
- Compliance with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable
- High ethical and professional standards of conduct
- Attitude of wanting to continuously improve their own professional performance
- Successful passing of state and federal criminal background checks
- Successful passing of any checks mandated by applicable licensing, funding, or regulatory authorities
