Job Summary
Collect vital signs, hold and position patients, and assist with minor specimen testing under RN or Care Manager supervision. Document and report patient data, manage medication administration, and handle prior authorizations and patient phone calls. Prepare materials and supplies, maintain environmental standards, and perform necessary clerical tasks while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Complete continuing education and may act as a preceptor for other staff. Requires active Ohio CNA certification, BLS CPR, and one year of recent hospital patient care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of fundamentals course from an approved nursing program, or equivalent certification or experience
- Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Ohio, or equivalent education or experience
- Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider)
- One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, or equivalent education or certification
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients
- Positive presence and interaction with patients, families, staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians
