Job Summary
PCA/CNA in a home care agency working under supervision of the Service Supervisor to provide personal care and activities of daily living for clients in their homes. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, meal preparation within patient diet, light housekeeping, incontinence care, documentation of client progress, and ensuring client safety. Must have experience with dementia and sundowning, and be able to transport clients as needed. Role requires 18+ with a high school diploma, healthcare experience preferred, good standing with the healthcare registry, two references, and a valid driver’s license with auto insurance. CPR/First Aid preferred. Physical endurance for standing, bending, lifting, and flexible with assignments; ability to read and follow written instructions and maintain confidentiality and safety according to agency policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and have a minimum of a High School Diploma.
- Must have at least one year of experience in the healthcare profession preferred.
- Must be in good standing with the health care registry.
- Must have at minimum, two (2) satisfactory references from previous employers.
- Current certificate in first aid and CPR preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable automobile, and current auto insurance required.
- Minimum one year of experience working in a health care setting
- Must display good emotional health and be able to physically tolerate much standing, bending, stooping, and heavy lifting within guidelines and teaching provided by the state of North Carolina.
- Must be able to read, follow written instructions and document the care given.
- Should demonstrate flexibility in acceptance of assignments and a cooperative attitude toward providing services. Must meet all agency requirements.
