PBX Operator (8A-8P)

Job Summary
Operate the hospital's PBX telephone console and communication system while providing basic information to callers, visitors, and patients. Respond to emergency codes and announcements, such as Code Blue or fire alarms, according to hospital procedures. Transfer calls to appropriate departments, patient rooms, physicians, nurses, or staff members, and make overhead paging announcements when requested. Assist with other duties such as registering patients and maintain knowledge of all facility departments. Complete annual educational requirements within the assigned time frame while adhering to all state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
