Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance on passenger boarding bridges by cleaning equipment, removing debris, and making minor adjustments to electrical and mechanical systems. Diagnose equipment failures under senior staff guidance while utilizing hand tools safely with appropriate PPE. Execute basic maintenance tasks and other ancillary duties to support airport operations in a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week environment. Requires flexibility for shift assignments and adherence to safety protocols, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds daily.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Educational Development (GED)
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- At least 1 year of mechanical work experience
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass required federal fingerprinting
- Ability to pass a Security Threat Assessment
- Ability to obtain airport security badging
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day
- Ability to frequently lift/move items up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work safely in a variety of locations including moving equipment, electricity, small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, and hot spaces
