Job Summary
Supervisor of Coding oversees daily coding activities performed by coders (employed or vendor) to ensure accurate and timely coding & billing, manages denials and claim edits, oversees compliance audits, and provides coverage for Directors of Coding as needed. Works with vendor coding teams to maintain compliance with policies and regulations, and leads coding staff/vendor to deliver high-quality coding and billing results in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or two (2) years of experience in lieu of degree may be considered
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P credential required
- Minimum three (3) years of coding experience in a team environment within a highly computerized hospital setting
- Previous experience and demonstrated skill in a leadership or supervisory role
