Payroll Team Leader

Job Summary
Process accurate weekly and monthly payrolls within agreed timeframes while maintaining HRIS data for new starters and terminations. Resolve payroll queries quickly, escalate where required, and prepare reporting for tax, superannuation, and statutory payments. Lead and support process improvements, system updates, and procedure reviews to enhance efficiency. Requires tertiary qualification in quality, business, or risk; minimum five years' experience in high-volume environments; strong understanding of compliance and statutory requirements; experience with payroll systems and award interpretation tools; intermediate Excel skills. Hybrid model: three days in office, two days WFH.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in quality, business, risk, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years' payroll processing experience
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, statutory requirements and deadlines
- Experience with payroll systems, rostering and award interpretation tools
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
