Job Summary
The US Payroll Tax Specialist ensures accurate payroll tax setup, processing, and compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions in the United States. Key duties include managing tax registrations, handling agency notices, supporting quarter-end and year-end tax activities (W‐2/W‐3, 940/941), maintaining employer tax accounts (FEIN, SUI), performing reconciliations and variance analyses, ensuring on-time filings and responses, and documenting controls and evidence. The role requires collaboration with internal Payroll, HRIS, CDCM, and Compliance teams; proficiency with tax systems and payroll platforms (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP); strong analytical and communication skills; and the ability to operate in a 24/7 shift environment with in-office requirements. This position emphasizes compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulatory updates, and provides end-to-end customer support via multiple channels.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of US payroll tax experience (federal, state, and local)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline (preferred)
- Experience with tax systems, payroll platforms, or ERP HR/Payroll modules (PeopleSoft, Workday or SAP)
- Certifications preferred: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) – APA; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) – APA
