Job Summary
Payroll Tax Specialist responsible for accurate payroll tax setup, processing, and compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions in the United States. Manage tax registrations, handle agency notices, support quarter-end and year-end tax activities, and ensure timely and accurate tax filings. Collaborate with internal Payroll, HRIS, CDCM, and Compliance teams to resolve tax-related issues, maintain audit-ready documentation, and provide end-to-end client support via multiple channels. Role requires flexibility to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, in an in-office setting located in Hyderabad, India.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
- 2–5 years of US payroll tax experience (federal, state, and local)
- Experience in a PEO or multi-state payroll environment
- Experience with tax systems, payroll platforms, or ERP HR/Payroll modules (PeopleSoft, Workday or SAP)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
- 2–5 years of US payroll tax experience (federal, state, and local)
- Experience in a PEO or multi-state payroll environment is highly preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) – APA
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) – APA
- Experience with tax systems, payroll platforms, or ERP HR/Payroll modules (PeopleSoft, Workday or SAP)
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting tools
