Job Summary
Conduct payroll tax analysis duties including reconciling periodic and quarterly tax information, working with tax agency representatives to resolve outstanding issues, and researching tax tracers or notices. Create and modify reports as needed, generate standard and ad hoc reports for management review, and coordinate the maintenance of payroll records and reports including the generation of tax forms required by regulation. Ensure accuracy of reports and adherence to regulatory requirements while working with federal, state, or provincial personnel and payroll vendors to resolve escalated issues. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to all authorities as required, maintain current knowledge of related processes, and develop procedures to ensure resolution of recurring issues. Act as a liaison for internal and external audits, support audit readiness, and contribute to compliance-related projects and regulatory change management initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- 5+ years relevant experience
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the operating environment, business process and procedures, and transaction lifecycle for own area
- Requires general understanding of the overall function and/or businesses supported
- Organized self-starter with excellent analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
- Detail oriented, high level of accuracy and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Strong customer orientation, interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of staff
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs or less occasionally
- Must be able to sit continuously

Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a medium to large size business
- Familiar with working with multiple state tax arrangements
- Familiarity and experience working in a Payroll Tax space/environment
