Job Summary
Coordinate all payroll related activity with the vendor and enter employee data into the HRIS system. Process new hires, separations, and status changes including pay increases and transfers while verifying hours, deductions, and tax withholdings. Reconcile timecards against payroll previews, process bonuses and commissions, and prepare certified payroll reports for government agencies. Distribute checks to employees, maintain confidential records, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two years' related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, and government entities
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions and percentages
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
