Job Summary
Process accurate semi-monthly payroll for approximately 700 employees across multiple states and legal entities. Audit payroll data including hours worked, commissions, bonuses, deductions, taxes, garnishments, PTO balances, and benefit deductions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations while partnering with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to support accuracy. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, automation, and operational efficiencies. Draft, distribute, and maintain clear, professional written communications to team members and leaders. This role requires 3+ years of payroll processing experience with multi-state expertise and proficiency in systems like Paylocity or ADP. Compensation ranges from $24.04 to $28.85 per hour, paid semi-monthly.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees
- Experience processing multi-state payroll
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, garnishments, and deductions
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar platforms
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated experience using Excel for formulas, data analysis, auditing, and reporting
- A mature team player that thrives in a collaborative and supportive environment
- Approach any challenge with a can-do attitude and take a creative approach to accomplishing tasks
Desired Qualifications
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
