Job Summary
Process multiple weekly and biweekly payrolls from start to finish, validating data for accuracy and administering direct deposits, garnishments, and tax withholding changes. Maintain employee payroll records, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and support year-end activities including W-2 processing and reconciliations. Identify process improvements, standardize practices across multiple payrolls, and resolve discrepancies while partnering with HR and Operations. Maintain payroll-related information within the HRIS and generate workforce reports. Work independently in a fully remote environment supporting a growing staffing organization.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience
- Experience processing multiple payrolls simultaneously
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax requirements
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
- Formal payroll coursework or certification through PayrollOrg (formerly the American Payroll Association)
- Experience in staffing, recruiting, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare staffing, or other high-volume payroll environments
- Experience documenting payroll procedures and improving operational processes
- ADP experience
