Job Summary
Payroll Specialist responsible for timely, accurate bi-weekly payroll processing through the HRIS system in a multi-state environment. Responsible for auditing time and labor data, reconciling payroll ledgers, establishing accuracy of federal/state/local taxes and other deductions, handling garnishments, responding to employee inquiries about pay, ensuring year-end W-2 accuracy, and ensuring compliance with payroll tax filings. Proficient in HRIS systems with emphasis on ADP Workforce Now; capable of balancing payroll accounts, generating payroll reports, and supporting data integrity for payroll operations in a part-time, on-site role (Mon-Thu).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years’ payroll processing experience in large, multi-state environment
- An associate degree or bachelor's degree, or comparable experience
- Experience with multi-state payroll, garnishments, and automated timesheets
- Experience with payroll tax issues
- Proven ability to complete work accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Prior working experience with HIRIS system; ADP Work Force Now preferred
