Job Summary
Payroll Specialist processes bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll; applies deductions, overtime, and bonuses; reconciles payroll data and maintains records in compliance with policy and law; supports payroll reporting including tax filings and year-end documents (W-2s, 1099s); responds to employee payroll questions with clarity and professionalism. Requires an associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) and prior payroll experience, familiarity with ADP systems (ADP Lyric preferred), and strong Excel skills. Location is Lafayette, LA; role is full-time with standard benefits and a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience in payroll or a similar role
- Working knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
- Experience with ADP payroll systems (ADP Lyric preferred)
- Strong Excel skills for reviewing and organizing payroll data
- A detail-oriented mindset and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
