Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
Process semi-monthly payrolls for the US and Canada and monthly payrolls for the UK and Germany, validating bonus, commission, equity, and supplemental earnings while reconciling outputs across ADP Workforce Now, Dayforce Powerpay, Zedra, and DATEV. Review and process payroll change requests via Jira, audit registers and funding reports, and manage off-cycle payrolls, severance, and wire calculations. Serve as the primary contact for external vendors, partner with Finance on funding, and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and direct deposit. Maintain payroll calendars, prepare documentation for internal and external audits, and support SOX controls and statutory reporting. Work a hybrid schedule of three days in the office in New York or Chicago.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience processing multi-state U.S. payroll
- Strong payroll compliance, reconciliation, and Excel skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now; Dayforce Powerpay, Zedra, or DATEV
- Experience supporting global payroll operations
- Experience with SOX controls and payroll audits
- CPP certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Experience working with international payroll vendors
- This is a non-exempt position
- This role is based in our New York or Chicago office
- Working in the office three days per week
- Follows a hybrid schedule
