Job Summary
Payroll Specialist responsible for all payroll functions for a specific business group, ensuring accurate checks reflecting hours worked, wages, and deductions; manage multi-state payroll taxes and forms (W-4, direct deposit); process new hires, transfers, terminations, and employee changes; coordinate bi-weekly payroll, leave of absence calculations, and accruals; back-up coverage and reporting, with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and timely transmission of payroll; requires expertise in ADP Payforce, Kronos, and advanced Excel, plus strong communication and relationship-building skills to support the business group and ensure timely payroll processing.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree required
- BA or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years work experience in a payroll department
- Proficient communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to build relationships
- Proficient Math skills
- Experience using ADP Payforce and Kronos
- Word, Outlook
- Advanced Excel skills
- Detail oriented, deadline driven, good communications skills written and verbal
- Ability to solve problems
