Job Summary
Payroll Specialist I responsible for supporting the Payroll Director and Senior Director of HR & Payroll in payroll operations and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role requires knowledge of wage and hour laws, multi-state payroll, payroll tax calculations, and payroll software, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. The position is with 3LS/Omni Family of Services, an employee-owned company offering a comprehensive benefits package, and includes potential eligibility for tuition reimbursement and ESOP-related retirement benefits. Location is Nashville, TN, with in-person work expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field or payroll certification preferred
- Intermediate/Advanced experience in MS Office applications
- Knowledge of wage and hour laws and multi-state jurisdiction; payroll tax calculations and payroll software
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to accurately deal with detailed and complex information in a confidential manner
- Valid drivers license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
