Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist responsible for the seamless execution of North American payroll operations, serving as subject matter expert for tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining the integrity of compensation systems; performs end-to-end payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, in a hybrid setup with standard hours 09:00–18:00 EET and occasional late shifts to align across regions. Responsibilities include processing weekly/bi-weekly and monthly payrolls, maintaining payroll data accuracy across databases, preparing timesheet uploads, reviewing deductions and withholdings, generating HRIS/payroll reports, handling accruals (401k and PTO), performing tax reconciliations and bank reconciliations, liaising with multiple entities, and managing employee inquiries via ServiceNow. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting/Economics/Business Administration or equivalent, minimum 3 years payroll/HR experience, 2+ years multi-state/global payroll experience (US preferred), union-contract experience, proficiency with Google Workspace, HRIS, Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems, and strong English; Spanish/French are advantageous.
