Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
Payroll Specialist processes bi-weekly payroll, acts as primary payroll contact, reviews personnel forms, audits time and attendance records, responds to employee inquiries, submits payroll files to ADP, generates reports, processes off-cycle checks, coordinates staff retirement contributions and benefits, prepares and inputs payroll and benefit journal entries, completes regulatory reporting (DOL, etc.), and reconciles payroll accounts to ensure accuracy. Requires 2+ years in payroll or accounting, experience with major payroll platforms (ADP/Paylocity/Workday/UKG), strong Excel skills, excellent analytical/organizational/communication abilities, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in payroll or other accounting role
- Experience with a major payroll platform (ADP, Paylocity, Workday, UKG) a plus
- Proficiency in general accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service both in person and via telephone or email
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately as well as exercise independent judgment and use discretion in the planning and performance of these duties
- High attention to detail with a strict adherence to recurring time sensitive deadlines
- Ability to utilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job
- Valid driver's license, proof of adequate automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required
