Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees, reviewing and validating earnings, deductions, taxes, and time records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Audit payroll data, prepare reconciliations and reporting, and serve as the subject matter expert for Dayforce system administration and pay policies. Support HRIS workflows, handle garnishments and tax levies, and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll items. Partner with Finance and HR teams to drive data integrity and continuous improvement initiatives while preparing year-end filings like W-2s and ACA reports. This role requires a U.S. person due to ITAR compliance and may involve occasional travel to manufacturing sites.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
  • Minimum of 5–6 years of payroll processing experience
  • Multi-state payroll administration experience
  • Previous experience processing payroll in Dayforce (Ceridian)
  • Strong HRIS experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws
  • Knowledge of garnishments
  • Knowledge of payroll tax requirements
  • Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Previous SAP experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field

  • Previous experience processing payroll in Dayforce (Ceridian)
  • Previous SAP experience
