Payroll Specialist (12 Month Contract)

Job Summary
Support payroll operations for Tru Cooperative Bank and subsidiaries by providing technical advice to the Manager, Payroll and guiding the Payroll Coordinator. Execute payroll across multiple cycles, validate outputs with Dayforce Managed Services, and resolve complex issues. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation, including CRA and OSFI requirements, while producing remittances and annual tax documents. Develop policies, maintain accurate records, and support audit preparation. Collaborate on system configuration updates and benefit integrations to optimize best-practice operations. Requires a Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation and 4+ years of experience; 12-month hybrid contract available in Langley, Vancouver, Kelowna, Penticton, Duncan, or Victoria.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in business administration, accounting or in a related field
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation
- 4+ years of payroll experience
- advanced knowledge of payroll legislation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation
- Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and Canada Labour Code
- Dayforce experience or similar outsourced payroll platforms
- Ability to perform complex tasks with little or no supervision
