Job Summary
Standalone payroll function with ownership over end-to-end payroll for ~150 employees across AU/NZ. 20 hours per week with flexible schedule and optional hybrid work in Richmond. Responsibilities include weekly end-to-end pay runs across AU and NZ (overtime, penalties, allowances, commissions, leave, terminations, back pays), STP Phase 2 reporting, PAYE, KiwiSaver, ESCT, superannuation, workers' compensation (AU) and ACC (NZ) reporting, employee payroll queries, onboarding/offboarding partnership with People & Culture, payroll journals and reconciliations, and process-improvement initiatives. Requires experience with Employment Hero and/or PayHero, knowledge of Australian and NZ payroll legislation, strong numeracy, Excel proficiency, and high discretion.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years' experience in an end-to-end payroll role
- experience with cloud payroll platforms (Employment Hero and/or PayHero)
- Solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation: Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, STP Phase 2, superannuation, PAYG
- Knowledge of NZ payroll legislation: Holidays Act 2003, Employment Relations Act, PAYE, KiwiSaver, ESCT, IRD payday filing
- Ability to interpret Modern Awards
- Strong numerical accuracy and a track record of delivering pay runs on time and error-free
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive data with discretion
