Job Summary
Lead end-to-end payroll processing for multiple unionized payrolls across five provinces, managing complex scenarios including overtime, shift premiums, and collective agreement changes. Serve as the UKG Pro Payroll and Workforce Management system lead, optimizing time capture, scheduling rules, and pay codes to minimize manual intervention and ensure seamless integration. Ensure strict compliance with federal and Québec payroll legislation, overseeing remittances, year-end reporting, and internal audits to maintain data integrity and audit readiness. Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Operations to implement process improvements, resolve complex pay issues, and support manufacturing operations during seasonal peaks.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years progressive payroll experience, including leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing multiple payrolls across a multi-site organization
- Extensive experience in a unionized environment, ideally managing multiple collective agreements
- Demonstrated expertise in Québec payroll processing and compliance
- Hands-on experience with UKG Pro Payroll
- Strong experience with UKG Workforce Management (Time & Attendance) modules
- Experience implementing and managing payroll controls, audits, and compliance frameworks
- Proven track record in payroll process optimization and continuous improvement
- Advanced Excel and payroll systems proficiency
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably food processing
- Bilingual (English/French)
- CPA/CPM/PCP designation or equivalent certification
- Experience supporting system implementations, integrations, or payroll transformations
- Knowledge of labour costing and complex scheduling/timekeeping environments
