Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day payroll operations for 22 payrolls across GBR, IRL, and offshore regions, ensuring accurate processing for salaried, hourly, and variable-hours staff. Act as final sign-off authority for payroll outputs while maintaining robust governance frameworks and statutory compliance. Partner with the People Leadership Team to align operations with strategic business goals and empower Team Leaders through coaching and development. Drive process evolution to enhance colleague experience and leverage technology for efficiency, while monitoring queries to reduce volume and improve resolution times. Provide accurate reporting to internal departments and external bodies, serving as the key escalation point for complex issues.
Required Qualifications
- CIPP qualified
- Extensive experience managing complex, high-volume payrolls
- Strong end-to-end knowledge of payroll operations
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality customer service
- Deep understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
- Experience with Auto Enrolment
- Experience with RTI
- Experience with PAYE
- Experience with Apprenticeship Levy
- Strong analytical skills
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Proven experience in leading and developing managers or team leaders
- Ability to communicate complex payroll issues clearly and effectively
- Good communication skills
- Ability to guide and influence
- Confidence to challenge current practices
- Flexible to work outside of standard office hours
Desired Qualifications
- Equivalent professional experience to CIPP qualification
- Experience of processing Irish payrolls
- Experience using Dayforce payroll software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
