Job Summary
Oversee weekly payroll processing for 8 branches across NC & SC (250+ employees) with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. Ensure DOT compliance and certified payroll reporting, review employee time data, wages, deductions, and tax withholdings, and maintain audit-ready payroll records. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in line with prevailing wage and government contract requirements. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in coordination with HR, accounting, and operations; monitor payroll processes and recommend efficiency improvements; stay current on payroll laws and regulations. The role demands a detail-oriented, compliant, and collaborative leader capable of guiding payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll processing
- Proven experience managing payroll within a DOT-regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage requirements
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
